Evaluation will be based on skill assessments and observation of performance. State assessments will be used for this.

Make-Ups:
Classes are available for legal absences. Credit will be given at the completion of the make-up based on the above grading procedures. Examples of legal absences may include but are not limited to a school sponsored activity, short term medical, etc. Students must make up missed classes within one week. Individual teachers must be contacted to make up skills and written assessments. Make-ups are available Monday-Thursday. Students must be changed and ready for activity by 2:45.

Long Term Medical Excuse:
Students whose absence extends beyond one week will have the opportunity to complete an alternative assignment that is acceptable based on the medical restrictions and is approved by the Director of Physical Education.

Alternative Instruction Room:
Physical Education packets are available for students to earn points while in the Alternative Instruction Room. The packets will need to be completed for each PE class missed. The packet will be handed in to the Alternative Instruction Room instructor, who will then place it in the appropriate classroom teacher's mailbox at the conclusion of the school day.

Fitness Assessment:
Every student will assess his or her fitness level twice during the year (Fall and Spring). Students will be graded on performance, but completion of the test and effort is a  larger part of the grade. Students will be encouraged to choose an active lifestyle to maintain a healthy fitness zone.

Locks:
Each student is issued a lock. Students are requested to lock up all valuables during class. Students should not share combinations with other students. Locks that are not returned at the end of the year will cost approximately $5.00.
